Large Prom + High res lunar images (Sept 19)
The solar images were taken in fluttery seeing with a Daystar ERF on an AR152 with a 2X TV Powermate + 1.5X Barlow on a 3.2Mp Blackfly.
The lunar images were done with a c9.25 with a 2X TV Powermate + 1.5X Barlow on a 3.2Mp Blackfly.
The c9.25 has no problem picking up the small craters inside Plato even though the lighting was not ideal.

Excellent both Prom and Moon!
I'm trying to calculate the focal length with your rig...seems very high-res. You used a Daystar ERF, but what was the h-alpha rig?

Re: Large Prom + High res lunar images (Sept 19)
Hi, Jack
The H alpha setup included a 150mm Daystar (yellow) ERF + AR152 + 6nm Astronomik filter on a TV 2X Powermate + Quark Combo + 1.5X Barlow on the snout of a 3.2Mp Blackfly. I used the camera at 1500 x1500 pixels to increase the frame rate, increase the scale, and avoid filling the buffer.
My session started at 1:00 pm in non ideal seeing.
Next day, I’ll try and screw the Barlow onto the nose of the Quark to see if that gives the etalon a more suitable light cone.

I missed this wonderful large prominence today. Overcast skies. Thanks for the great view. Nice lunar pics too!

Re: Large Prom + High res lunar images (Sept 19)
Beautiful proms, Lou, and the lunar images do indeed show a lot of details. Plato has a lot more craterlets in store with the right lighting. The ones captured are well resolved. Hope to see more.
