This mornings Proms - better blending and color harmony

Post by Cschur »

Here are a few limb shots from this mornings shooting session. Ive spent a lot of time getting the edge blend the way I like it, such that the disk does not appear to be a flat plate suspended over a background of blood reds. Also, gone forever is the red proms. It was an experiment, but was hard to see, and reduced the visibility of the dim prom components. Also, and very importantly, the color I am now going to use is harmonious with the firey disk, and appears to be an extension of it, rather than a background. I believe I have preserved in these images both the data integrety, asthetic appeal, and a harmony in color and tonal blends. Thanks to Ken for pointing out the issues. Here are todays shots:

Thanks for looking!

Outstanding - I like to color blends very much. The surface details have much more depth of field and rise up to the proms nicely!

Congrats!!

Kindest Regards

Funny you should ask mr Venture, Here is a CaK shot of the prom taken right afterwards. Totally different appearance at 393nm!

Thanks for all the pics Chris we're im Storm mode down here. Every afternoon brings one. Can't complain too much though as this type of weather makes the Bees work hard.

Thanks Mark and Derek! We are going to be in storm mode all the rest of the week, up to two feet of snow predicted! We live at 5150 feet elevation, so our altitude may only get half of that. :(

Mark, did you get my email I sent you on filters?

great blending of the disk and proms. I have to try it with my own images using Ken's image processing methods.

best regards

I like the yellow-gold coloring of the limb, specially the edges processing. Nice work Chris.
I found Ken tutorials very useful me too. :) ;)

Peter and Alexandra, really appreciate your support and approval! with all of your help, I have been able to continually refine the look of my Ha images to the current state. I have not read Kens articles yet, and wanted to see what I could do on my own first. You now see here the look my images will be takeing for some time to come! B)

This chat site offers something that the others do not - a common sense approach to each of us helping the others in this group to better them selves and thier imaging. This makes me SO excited to be part of this hobby! ;)
