Sol from the 16th of November 2019.

Post by eroel »

Hi:
Saturday was a hazy day but sunny, so I used all my scopes at home, the Meade 102mm f/9 refractor fitted with a CaK PST mod, the Solarmax 90-DS and the 102mm f/7 Stellarvue fitted with a 4X Baader telecentric and an old Daystar T-Scanner Ha filter, all with the same camera, the SKYnyx 2-2. I don´t know why I keep using the same camera when I have TIS, Point Gray, Zwo and several othe brands, probably I am used to it. :?
Thanks for looking.
Best regards,
Eric.

Great set of images, Eric. That camera works well. Nothing wrong with a little age on the equipment.

I know exactly what you mean Eric  why do I always pick the DMK41 to do my PST imaging with when I bought a PGR Chameleon that does the job much better  force of habit and knowing exactly what you are going to get :)

These are a really lovely set, especially the CaK close ups, absolutely razor sharp :bow :bow

Hi Eric,

That is a great harvest! How long did you spend to get all of that? I especially like the proms with 2 shades. I must say I have only recorded proms with 1 shade of grey. How did you do it?

Alexandra, Brian, Phil, Mark and Alfred, thanks for looking and commenting.
Alexandra, you are right and also because I am used to Lucam-Recorder software because I was a beta tester for a long time.
Alfred, I spent most part of the Saturday morning, from 9:45 to 11:42, then it clouded.
As for the protuberances, what I do is play with the exposure, gamma and gain using the TIFF format, until I like how the protuberances look in the monitor.
In FD´s I really do not take care if some protuberances look overexposed, because I just want to make a shot of all the protuberances that are observable, in spite of being dim or really bright.
In higher resolution images, I try to treat each protuberance as it looks.
Best regards and you all have a nice week.
Eric.
