Nov. 18 Disk and AR LS80

Post by Astrophil »

Finally some sun today! Not clear but I could detect a shadow so I set up the LS80 and waited for an opening. It was too hazy for proms but I got a full disk and with a 5x Powermate, I imaged the active region. Nice to see something.

I could pick up that tiny filament in the AR visually in my SM II 60.

Good eyes, James. I can not see Ha very well even after numerous hours staring into the eyepiece. Proms yes, surface not so much. Inaging works best for these old eyes.

Thanks Brian.
