Today a brief thinning of the clouds allowed for one image. GONG showed a bright region on the southeast limb and that was the target. I don't know if anything will result from it but it looked interesting enough to post.

The image was taken at 17:53 UT and the feature did not last very long. Maybe it will show again.

That is a cracking image! why, because the detail all along the rim with beautifully defined spicules is a pleasure to see, you must have had lovely seeing.
