Full solar disk 6th Feb 2020
Hi, just testing my new zwo asi 178mm usb3 with my lunt 60mm double stack today. I had used an older 120mm usb2 b4. Not sure why orientation is different from other image's from the 6th that other people have taken.

Looks good Ella.
I also have to always correct the orientation (when I don't forget that is). I can all vary based on the telescope used, straight through vs diagonal, orientation of the camera etc. All in all, pretty normal.

These are terrific! amazing proms!
It is always hard to orientate yourself especially when the Sun is so quiet. Sometimes GONG can help http://halpha.nso.edu/index.html#top

Re: Full solar disk 6th Feb 2020
Hi,
yes orientation can be a "problem". I always try to image straight-thru and place the camera so that north (not suns north, but true north). I have 2 ZWO cams the 120 and the 178 and to get a "correct" image I need to place the 120 with the usb connector upwards, and the 178 downwards. (So sensor is reversed in 1 cam). With a diagonal of course you flip one direction, but in FireCapture you can just flip the image independantly on the axis. (If the cam supports, and ZWO does).

Nice set of images !!!
I found that the ZWO camera don't have a common chip/camera body orientation which is a pain.

Re: Full solar disk 6th Feb 2020
Nice images. As Alexandra says, Gong can be a great help with orientation, whether rotation or ‘flipping’.
