2-13-20 observations

The sun is very bland today. I can see only one tiny prominence and maybe one tiny filament near the limit of visibility. Otherwise only the ever-present solar filagree is seen. White light is even more featureless. Not a spot in sight. I hope you guys do better with imaging!

Don't worry about it being solar minimum - when things pick up you will have honed your solar skills & then pow!

Well you saw more than GONG then :hamster: I guess the small prom was the one in the south east, where was the tiny filament?

Starting viewing in solar minimum is a good thing, I started in the last solar minimum and I got really excited by the smallest detail. If you start at maximum then you are spoiled :lol:

Alexandra,

The filament was located near disc center. It shows up as a tiny darker area just left of the disc center on the GONG Ha image. I am not even sure it is a filament. Maybe only a cluster of unresolved spicules in the chromospheric filagree.

I hope starting during minimum does help me hone my skills.
