Hi Folks,
This is my 1st post here. I am going to start with a Mosaic of the Sun on 2011-12-13 and another image with some details showing one of the most active regions of the day. The links to the images are:

Hi guys,
Thank you so much for the kind comments. Your positive feedback has been highly considered.

Pedro: Thank you for giving me the url of this wonderful forum.

OBTW: Have you seen the flare's activities of the AR11366 and AR11367 ? In the image with the details of these ARs that I did yesterday, I managed to pick up some mass ejection by AR11366. It looks like today the activity is even bigger. It is a pity that we had rain the hole day.

Best Regards,

Fernando

Welcome Fernando!

What beautiful pictures, the detail is wonderful. I definitely think the second is my favourite as I love the prom/filament transition.

Fernando,

I sytarted this whole forum to compliment my website and nonprofit outreach program to attract a certain type of solar astronomer here. Everyone here knows already that they can take a great image, do a fun outreach, make some great solar artwork, do a good sketch, build a telescope, etc... We dont need to prove to each other how great we are. Everyone shares their psssion for El Sol in a non competitive environment where we pick up tips and tricks from each other to make ourselves better able to share this great hobby with others. Thats the point. Solar Astronomy first, ego's a distant second.

Im pleased to have you online with us and hope that you will enjoy your stay. Now, go find your favorite solar astronomer and invite him/her to join us..:)

As a noobie to Solar I want to add that this is a fantastic place to learn. Do you remember your transition to Solar and the confusion as to "What is a etalon? What is double stacking?" Why a b1200 over 600, 1800 over a 1200?"

I remember YEARS ago being confused by Reflectors, Refractors, Dobsonians, etc.

As Stephen says this is a great place to show off our interests without flexing our egos.

A personal thanks to all the members.
