First picture: June 7th

Post by solarnoob »

Hi all
Just wanted to share my astro first picture (yay ! :D ) taken with my Lunt. I received the ZWO ASI174+SolarQuest last Saturday, and the attached picture was taken the next morning. After watching Mark Townley’s and Wise imaging tutorials (SharpCap, AutoStakkert, and RegiStax), here is the result. Amazing how much more details you get after processing the image.
I've got a lot to learn, but I am loving it!

Thanks!
Frank

Excellent image for a first one Frank.
Don't be to disappointed if improvements are slow because that is a brilliant image.

Very good. Could it be that you used a high gamma setting while recording your images ? I see the grey a bit washed out.

If that's you're first solar picture, you are doing very well already.

Thank you!
@Rainier, I don't remember modifying the Gamma, but it's quite possible, thanks for the helpful remark; I will keep that in mind next time.
