Proms July 2nd, 2020 - PG Flea 3 vs. ZWO 178
Hello everybody: sorry for the late post. Yesterday July 2nd was very warm here, around 90 degrees. I had a short session in the afternoon and imaged the proms with the PG Flea 3 and ZWO 178 minutes apart and in the same weather conditions. The Flea 3 is 3.2Mp and the 178 is 6.4Mp and about the same pixel size. The full disk is with the Flea 3. All images are with the SolarMax II 90mm single stack. I tried to process the images in very similar way and reframed them to about the same size, for what I could. I like to hear your opinions.
I wish everybody a wonderful weekend.

Difficult to say. Even taken minutes apart there are large changes in the proms, and possibly seeing.

I see them all very good and as Dan says minutes can change the seeing.

Franco:
Very nice session and images.
As Dan says, I also think that seeing changes are to blame, the same happened to me.
Best regards,
Eric.

Nice results Franco. The ZWO images are noisier and shows more posterization, but that may well be just the processing causing it.

Nice whichever combination, Franco. Conditions can be such a large variable factor in side by side comparisons.

Nice set of images, Franco.
I can only join what has already been said; they both look great in their own right (can't really pick a favorite).

Nice job, Franco.
As the others have said, it’s hard to come to a conclusion about relative camera performance.
Cheers.

I think I prefer the Flea 3 images, the ZWO are very noisy. I find my ZWO extremely noisy too
I love the full disc

Alexandra: thank you, I am of the same opinion. I will try the 178 on other targets, like chromosphere or the moon.
