Full disk 13-08-2020

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

Sun is shining and here my discs.

The four prominences on the limb are just changing its form and still there.

The SW prominence formed into two archs. The NW promence upsized quite a lot. The NE prominence is a filaprom. The SE pillar prominence from yesterday is toda an Arch.

AR 2769 is just a left over on the NW limb. AR 2770 is following the same path and has no spots anymore. Clearly visible in the White Light image.

AR 2771 developed a single visible spot better said a pore with no penumbra. How is it called when a spot has a penumbra, would that be a pore too ?

Possible AR 2772 and AR 2773 have hints of getting pores or spots. We will see tomorrow.

As usual best seen in full size in a new tab/window :bow2

I mentioned something like that too in a resent observation. When is a pore not a pore but a spot and vice-versa. Some pores, or nascent spots seem to have a penumbra as revealed by higher resolution SDO HMI continuum images. For years I thought pores never could have penumbrae.

Spectacular details in that disk, Rainer.
The filaprom is a great capture.
Cheers.

A very lively disc and very beautiful too :bow :hamster:

I always thought a spot had penumbra, a pore did not?
