Hi

Clear skies after a cloudy start. No breeze but seeing affected by CH boilers then over the town later.

Mak180 35nm Omega 1.5A Blocker PST Mod 2 Beloptik KG3 UV/IR Bino-viewers 12x PZ0 '18mm'.
11.00 BST

I could see the 3 main proms at 3.00 for me. But quiet faint. An issue all day.
There were 3 feeds and faint rounded bumps above. Higher at the right.

11.20 BST

90mm Triplet 35nm 2x ES Tele-extender Barlow UV/IR Prom Quark 25mm Fujiyama Ortho with occulting segment.
02.15 Little Bump
03.00 Three rounded proms

Changed to 3x ED Barlow
03.00 The three proms but middle one extended to the right,

11.25 BST

Went back to the Mak but used the 25mm Fujuyama Ortho. Better internal details than the bino-viewer.
11.30 Bright jet with bar leaning down to the right. Small blob above.
03.00 Little prom to the left with extension up at right.
Middle prom 'batman' with wider cloak on right.
Right hollow prom 'gerkin' with bar at top leaning left.
05.00 Bright little arch with a little arch over to the right

I bought some Opto-Sigma lenses for the PST Mod 150mm and -150mm for the 127mm F7.5 Meade Triplet
So I swapped them into the PST Mod 2. Matching the reflections to the PST lenses.
Unfortunately the result was not very good in the 127mm or the 90mm.
I had not changed the lens spacings from the PST Etalon so maybe not optimal, just remembered I should have done that!
The F10 version was quiet sharp but of course small image in the two refractors. I need pairs of 20x and 25x eyepieces for the bino-viewers.

Put the Prom Quark on the 127mm. 35nm 2x ES Tele-extender UV-IR Prom Quark.
A nice view of the 03.00 group above with details. Now reduced to two sprays.

Using the base weight from an old lamp I made the Mak PST mod with bino-viewers properly balanced so it can be used on my Ioptron GPS mount, where the binoculars will stay horizontal. 1800mm fl

Have the 127mm F7.5 Triplet with ES2x and Prom Quark on the EQ5 pier for a good comparison. 1900mm fl

RodAstro said I need to use the bino-viewers on the Chrom Quark to improve the contrast.

It looks like you had a good session today. You have an excellent attention to details. The remains of Hurricane Sally passed over me today bringing clouds and copious rain so no solar observations for me. Thanks for the report.
