AR 22-09-20 WL Ha

Post by RodAstro » Tue Sep 22, 2020 2:29 pm

Hi

A bit better seeing today even though it was mid day, may get another go later and see if anything has changed.
Two small spots easily visible in white light at around 100x magnification.
A nice deep hole seen in Ha while it is near the limb.

I used a Zeiss full aperture glass photographic solar filter that came with the scope and a solar continuum filter, I use a Revelation Astro W11 green filter and a polarizer as well for visual with the Zeiss bino head and Zeiss orthoes. I have never seen glass filters that give such a view as these 1/10th wave I think.
Ha is the same as yesterday with 6" Zeiss and Quark Chromo, ASI174mm.

Looks like there might be some spots imbedded in the AR. Thanks for the post!

Yes. I just got the tiny pores visually using my C102, Altair wedge and the Baader 540nm filter. I could not see them at all without the filter though the region itself was easy.

Fabulous images Rod, I think ARs look great at the limb as they show all the 3D qualities :hamster: :bow
