Looks like CalSky.com is no more. How do you all plan your ISS transits now?

Best,
Jack

Hi Jack,

This is one option

https://transit-finder.com/

Here another

https://www.heavens-above.com/

and perhaps many other options which I have not yet found but making a search with this brings up a lot of choices

I think Alexandra just had a heart attack...!
Thanks for the tips, Ranier. I'll look up mobile phone apps as well.

If I remember well it was a free site accepting donations for keeping the site up ...

Well, yes that is a problem. We want everything free

and do not think that there is a person behind a site investing his time ...

Is there not a saying ...

Time is money :?

I'm dragging this back up as I need to get myself up and running again. Does anyone know how to use Heaven's Above? I can't find anywhere where you can look for solar and lunar transits or set up a notification? I can only see a list of ISS passes.

I have also tried transit finder and again I can't find a notification system.

Any help would be great :)
Alexandra

Hi Alexandra.

Heavens Above = "10-day predictions for satellites of special interest" / "ISS" - where you will need to put in you Lat/Long position.
Bearing in mind that GMT is normally used, as well as occasionally the position is changed occasionally (only a little for operational reasons) but will make little difference to seeing it at the times and elevations shown.

I have "SatScape" by Scott Hather - where I have previously been able to relay the programs' voice-position out to my garden via a short-range radio-link and seen the ISS exactly as said over that link. For many years this program has excelled itself above many others and may still be downloadable onto Windows platforms. https://satscape.en.softonic.com

Also
https://www.n2yo.com/passes/?s=25544 nay well suit your needs.

CLEAR SKIES as always
Regards
Terry
