Session time is from 10:30am to 11:20am EST local time ( US ). Temp is 60F. Skies are a deep blue clear and seeing is maybe just above average.
Coronado SolarMax II 60 DS. 16x, 21.5x and 33x ( Ha )
I first off see three active area plages on the solar disc. AR12782 nearing the SW limb, the large double-plaged AR12783 in the south with it's spot and a new yet unnumbered AR in the NE. I can see most, if not all the filaments shown on the GONG Cerro Tololo Ha image but a couple stand out. One associated with AR12783 near it's western plage is really dark. Very easy to see. Also a filaprom in the NE is noteworthy. As far as prominences go I see a number of them. A low-lying bright one on the SE limb with a couple of fainter ones to it's north. The northeast has the filaprom. The NW has a larger prom with an extension pointing north. I am thinking it's the " Aardvark Prom! ". I can see no prominences on the SW limb.
The mottles are of good contrast today and cover the solar disc except where plages are present.
Orion 70mm Solar Telescope. 25x, 50x and 62.5x ( WL )
I can see a single spot associated with AR12783. It shows a well defined umbra and penumbra. It's umbra has a couple of indentions in it's western side. I see no other spots or pores. I cannot see the faculae to this system today. AR12782 is visible as a facula. I see no pores or spots. The new AR in the NE shows 2 spots. A new bi-polar spot group! Both spots have penumbrae but the umbra are not sharp and distinct, but fragmented. I cannot see any faculae with this group either.
Granulation visible without difficulty.
Carpe Diem!
James

Nice! Thanks for the report James, glad you had some nice views at the scope. I'm really looking forward to some sunshine that is forecast tomorrow (allegedly).

Thanks for the report James, keep it up. As someone said rather than see sunspots, I need to spot the sun.

Re: November 21 2020 Observations. New Sunspots!
Thanks for the report James and yes I actually saw the Sun for around 5-minutes total in between fast moving clouds.
White Light only through a spotting-scope which showed the nubie twin-spots in the N.E. but was unable to capture in a camera..
Latest report suggests that the approaching S.E. LImb's double AR is very active and believed with spots...
Cheers
Terry

So far I am cloudy today too.
Ahh, it cleared just enough to allow a white-light observation. Posting shortly.
