Apologies if i'm not as busy on here of late, work is just sapping all my time, meaning while I can find the time for a quick scan of posts I don't have the opportunity to respond to all. So, if I haven't responded to your post don't take offence, i'm just struggling to fit everything in the day!
Sunday however offered clear skies, and with the 7 foot winter pier installed and peeping over the 6 foot high neighbours fence, I have a sunny window all year round from midday till just before sunset - woohoo! I was excited to get the scopes out, and looking through the double stacked 50mm Ha setup visually for a while I have to say I think is the busiest i've seen the sun since Easter 2019. It was very relaxing and calming to be able to take the time to look properly through the eyepiece with the hustle and bustle of life surrounding the rest of the week. Even Mrs T enjoyed a look through the scope in between her doing the garden.
I was keen to dust off the cobwebs and grab some images though, and started off with the Ha full disk - 50mm Lunt etalon double stacked with a Quark. Seeing was never going to be great, and some bits of the image are softer than others, but hey ho - better than clouds!

Spoilt for things to look at - visually the prom in the northern hemisphere looked great!

Forgot to sort the tilter out and a bit of banding as a result, need to add that job to the list!

My favourites were in CaK though, and raising the gamma in ImPPG meant the spicule ring and proms came out quite nicely I thought (for CaK) while still retaining some disk contrast. Be sure to double click the disk for the full size view in Flickr to see the limb, particularly around where the new activity is emerging. I like the surge jet!

These were shot at 60mm f16 for the disk, and 60mm f28 for the closeup. Very borderline results for the seeing, but pleased they came out.

All in all a nice way to spend a sunday!
Hope you like,
Mark
