Very active Sun of Nov 25

Post by krakatoa1883 » Wed Nov 25, 2020 2:57 pm

A clear and sunny day over Milan allowed me to image our star in fair seeing conditions. How long has it been since the last time we have been able to see so much activity on the Sun ? I can't remember, it seems that centuries have passed since then  But further activity is expected in the next few days, and till now it seems that the southern hemisphere is the most active.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice, detailed close-ups! And you're right: It's great to see a sunspot of decent size again, after what feels like centuries!

It seems that solar cycle 25 is ramping up stronger and faster than predicted.

Thanks for your comments.

Franco, I never observed the Sun so often as during the pandemic, working at home has some advantages indeed...
