1-17-2021. WL Only.

Post by DeepSolar64 » Mon Jan 18, 2021 2:28 am

Today just before noon EST local time ( US ) from a friend’s in Rock Hill SC I got a brief solar session in. The skies are nearly overcast and the temp is 39F. The seeing is pretty dern good though.

Astro-Tech AT72EDII w/Altair wedge. 23.5x and 71.5x. ( WL ).
I see a sunspot very close to the SE limb! It is located northeast of a patch of faculae. I can also see a very tiny pore in the SW quadrant. It’s hardly bigger than a granule! Granulation is very apparent at 71.5x. Easily seen.

Carpe Noctem my Friends.

James

You have good eyesight to spot that little pore in the SW :hamster:

Not only that. The SDO showed me exactly where to look and the seeing was good. I did not see it today.
