Re: Zoom Meeting - 21 February @ 18:00 UT
Hi everyone...
An important note about the Zoom meeting. This was mentioned earlier, but way down in the message thread now, so I will post it again.
Alexandra is looking for names that she recognizes from Solarchat, so please include your profile name when you log in. It will be too complicated to be trying to figure who is who if you only have a name in Zoom that isn't used in the forum.
As an example, my default Zoom account is set up as Brian Colville...I will likely change it to sign in up as Brian Colville (MapleRidge). There are some member here who are known on a first name basis, but some not, so lets try to make it easy for everyone to be known.
If your profile name doesn't have your first name in it it would be nice to see a first name to make conversions easier. If Alexandra does not recognize your name in the waiting room you might not get in. Just trying to keep we personal account secure.
Maybe Alexandra will make any final comments about login names when she posts the link.
Thanks,
Brian

I'll post the link to the Zoom meeting about 16:00UTC here on this chat line, I've not forgotten. The less time it is up on social media the less time that weirdo's can get hold of it and more specific to those who know where to look

OK the Zoom link
https://zoom.us/j/93427525418
Meeting ID: 934 2752 5418
Passcode: 455978
Please can you start with your video on so you can wave and say hello to begin with so that we know you are a genuine person. Also, please read the above from Brian
I'll disable screen share, for security, so if you want to share your screen I will make you a co-host so you can share. So only one person can screen share at a time. This is so that someone can't share inappropriate things all of of a sudden.
If I don't recognise you I won't let you in from the waiting room. If you are stuck in the waiting room and are genuine let me know by adding a post here. I'll try and keep an eye on this post.
Look forward to seeing you soon.

Re: Zoom Meeting - 21 February @ 18:00 UT
Thanks everyone for attending and making for a very informative and interesting discussion
Maybe folks in the UK could think about collaborating together to make a lamp, we could then all come together and have a mass etalon testing session / workshop? when meeting in person is permitted of course
It would be a very interesting exercise
Looking forward to the book Christian too

Thanks for all the kind comments about setting up the meeting...much appreciated. I have to thanks Alexandra again for hosting on her Zoom account
The discussion was excellent, with a lot of input form the broad experience of this in attendance. The Hydrogen tube discussion we great. Looks so easy, but much more involved than it sounded
Take care all,
Brian

Thank you Alexandra, Brian, for setting this up, and all other participants. It was an interesting meeting, with new friends and I definitely learned some good information. I love the fact that on these zoom meetings I can see everybody's faces (humans) without a mask !
