18-2-2021-Thursday THE SPOTS AND MORE...

Post by EGRAY_OBSERVATORY »

Well at last Wednesday/17th produced a small-change in the sleep-pattern of our Sun over the past two weeks or so. SDO shows these...

The two new, but little Sun-spots have developed very-slightly over the last 10-hours, as the two images show and their cropped-versions...

Noticeably, also now there are more significant proms on the east-side of the limb - occurring at midnight-ish on Wednesday into Thursday, so hopefully there will be images of such - weather permitting...

The STEREO image is showing that there is a significant AR crossing the border at datum, so hopefully the North will show more action over the coming days...

Thanks for reading and viewing.

Terry

Thanks Terry! Hoping for some sunshine this afternoon after the weather comes through this morning, be keen to see what is coming around the limb and how this small region in the north develops.

The latest imagery from SDO, shows that at the N.E. Limb and just becoming visible is another AR that may well have a spot or more.
Also the N.W. Quadrant pair of spots is still shown in the attached image at mid-day Thursday.

Cheers
Terry

Thanks Terry, I managed to catch both today, quite a bright AR on the N.E. limb and the N.W quadrant spot/s. Probably process tomorrow. Quick pic added, lol.

Hi Nigella, it certainly seems as if you have a well-good and interesting capture there on the screen.
Will be excellent to see the processed image - when you can.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Alexandra, yes there is a very large "Low pressure" region over the Atlantic bringing-up from the S.W. so much of that cloud - up through the U.K.

Not much sign of that changing for the weekend for many areas here - either.

https://zoom.earth/#view=47.4,-0.2,4z/d ... crosshairs shows the same as a satellite image..

Hopefully at least the proms will become more active and AR2803 will also remain active and image-available after the white-fluffy has passed.

Cheers
Terry
