Sun Through The Clouds 20th March

Post by marktownley »

Saturday was cloudy, however late afternoon I did notice the cloud had thinned and there were diffuse shadows on the ground, when the weather has been conspiring against you for so long sometimes this is all that is needed to get a scope out so I did... 40mm f20, needed to use 2x2 binning again, and have the gain up 3/4 just to get something on the screen. You can see the 'glow' of cloud around the sun. Still, better than nothing and I caught the new sunspot on the eastern limb.

If I do get anything today I think it will be a similar 'fishing the gaps' kinda day...

Mark

Wow! superb Mark :bow :hamster: no chance for me yesterday but it has just gone clear here (when the Sun went down). Just got an aurora alert so may take a trip to the cow field later.
