Double-stack Ca K images 28 March and big thanks to Pedro

Hello,

Weather prospects are quite good for the coming days. But, not much solar activity, so I spent some time tuning my double stack Ca K configuration.

I remove the EO 394. In fact, it was a source of ghost images. Now, I only have the Astronomik blue filter (as internal ERF), the Alluxa 0.4 nm and the Barr 0.24 nm.

Last Zoom meeting, Pedro encouraged us to use "color visualisation" to tune double (or triple) stack configuration. This is indeed an excellent idea. Thanks Pedro !!

Using false colour in firecapture is very useful to tune our solar imaging combos

Very nice results Christian, and you likely got shortened exposures by removing the K line filter.

Would someone please remind me of the "false color" process used in FC? Thanks

Bob, in fact I removed the EO394 nm filter. For some reasons, in this configuration ghost images are created by this filter. On the other hand, ghost images are pushed away from the optical axis when I use the Ca K on the 300 mm solar Newtonian. Different configurations different results...
I think the gain in transmission is about 10 to 15%.
