Re: April 4th 2021 - Animation
I observed this prom this morning. Excellent animation. Nice detail. Nothing shows the Sun like a good animation does.

Superb animation, Simon. Lots going on there in the prom and an excellent demonstration of just how dynamic the spicule field is within the chromosphere.

Excellent animation!
The adaptive unsharp masking in ImPPG should be able to selectively suppress the grainy background noise. If you could post a single raw stack (>=16 bits), I can give it a try and provide an appropriate settings file.

Would you be able to explain the best way to use this?GreatAttractor wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:25 pm The adaptive unsharp masking in ImPPG should be able to selectively suppress the grainy background noise. .

Re: April 4th 2021 - Animation
errrr..... im one of these people that doesnt save anything so i already trashed it. If i kept everything i did, I would need a house just to store the amount of drives that i fill up. Besides, I can get rid of the noise if i really wanted to but its never really bothered me so I choose to be lazy!!

Re: April 4th 2021 - Animation
Understood - though I suggest keeping some of it for future experiments. I also can't save every 200-gigabyte dataset from a successful time-lapse session, but it's not a problem for a single best video (which is typically just a few hundred MB) and, say, a few tens to ~200 raw stacks.
Of course. There's a tutorial section on it, in case of further questions/examples in need of processing, feel free to start a dedicated thread.marktownley wrote: Would you be able to explain the best way to use this?
