The joy in doing outreach is when you witness that moment of Discovery for somebody. And you got a really terrific image to boot!
And who knows? There's still so much Out There waiting to be discovered and maybe she's the One...

That's absolutely fabulous!!!
It's funny, when my husband imaged a transit on his very first time with the camera he was smiles and excitement for a couple of days. It's the only time I have ever seen him that enthusiastic, although even at the weekend he came running saying there's a plane coming towards the sun! but it missed. Transits are the best

Stephen, cool stuff! I had an jet fly through when I had the camera set up on the Lunt 100, but I was not recording at the time, but the contrail lasted several minutes across the sun. I also get bugs, birds and flying spiders.

Re: This is just cool man
by the way this is shot with the DMK51. 400 frames then opened and resaved as 1200 frames with avidub. then exported as an image sequence using QT Pro. THEN each frame was colorized using Canon DPP software, then remade into another .mov using QT Pro. way too long a process...
