blocking filter

Post by Steveoid »

Hello Guys just a quick question for you experts out there. I have a 60mm H-alpha Telescope, B1200, Feather-Touch focuser and Pressure Tuner and was wondering is there anything stopping me from using a b1800 blocking filter on this telescope? Steve

No reason at all other than it's more expensive. You'll be fine with the 1200 i'd think tbh tho...

Steve,
The BF1200 is alreadylarger than the light cone could ever get in the 60mm Lunt so there would be no advantage to going to a larger one in that scope. In fact, the smaller blocking filters generally are more even with less abberations so you may actually loose some image quality by overbuying the BF.
