28th Dec Greyscale Sun

Post by Derek Klepp » Wed Dec 28, 2011 10:40 am

Managed these between the clouds this arvo 100mm Lunt with 2.4x Extender+2x Barlow using GSTAREX camera with gamma at .45 and shutter speed at 100.Quickly processed in Registax 5 and touched up in Picasa. Was busy getting a new Modem put in as a Lightning strike ruined the last one .

Mighty fine images. Looks like we might get some some around here today. We were treated to a rainbow the other day when the sun made a brief, and I mean very brief visit

Absolutely fantastic as usual Derek, I really do look forward to what you post, it brightens up the bleak mid winter!

Alexandra

I hate to be all mushy...but this forum is really fantastic. Those images from Derek (do I detect some photoshop "embossing"?)
are just magical and with Earl's rainbow I just got a warm fuzzy feeling at how great this place has taken off...thanks to your help. Thank you guys.. I am so proud of this forum and its members...:)

Stephen I don,t have PS all my pics are about 1000 frame Avis stacked in Registax 5 and adjusted in Picasa Freeware. thats it . I try to keep things simple due to lack of time for post processing. If I get a better shot I may use Picnik for some sharpening or false colour and thats it. I will probably get PS in winter(Southern Hemisphere) when work eases off.I must agree there is a wealth of information here and all levels of experience.
Thanks to all.
