Garland TX 12-29-2011

Post by earl » Fri Dec 30, 2011 3:04 am

Today was a mixed blessing. It seems I had a soft focus on the sun today and it looked sharp on my monitor but upon closer inspection in Registax I can see the slight blur. And the stack count was very low which didn’t smooth out the newton rings even with darks and flats being used. Oh yeah … and during a flare my computer decided it wanted to reboot and install updates without asking me. Just shut down, restart, and tell that it restarted due to updates. Thanks Windows … missed 11 minutes of the flare. But even an off day of solar imaging is better than no day.

This is not my better work but I haven’t posted any animations in a while so it will do for now.

Neat movie. BTW if you go to settings, you can turn off automatic updates...
