Wow! I'm missing so much while at work. Love these pics!
Re: St. Peter Claver Catholic School Outreach an 19th 2012 solar photos
Stephen,
First of all I would like to congratulate you for this amazing work that you do with the kids. See your pictures in the middle of them, their little faces of enchantment, the new findings, the access to a new world of knowledge... man that is a great feeling for you, I am sure.
I am very impressed how you manage to take of everything and still be able to do captures of excellent quality, including that huge flare in 1402.
I called my daughter to watch the movie and see the pictures with me and we had great time. She remembered her time in St. Peter School in Canada, not too long ago.
I am so sorry for the accident with your telescope. I hope you get it fixed soon.
Best Regards,
Fernando

Hi Stephen
now that was a day for you. Thanks for all these wonderful shots. I'm happy, it seems to be "only" mechanical damage

I'm sure you gave the kids a day to remember. Well done!
My heart stopped when I heard about the telescope..that cold feeling down your left leg..inability to breathe.........
I hope it all works out OK
There but for fortune.

Wonderful pictures and how amazing to see such a big flare.
I feel sick when I think of your beautiful scope, don't you just wish you could go back in time. I've taken out insurance just in case of this type of disaster.
Regards
Alexandra

Ya, isnt that awesome that those kids images got featured on spaceweather.com!!?
Notice that board member Theo Ramakers image was also featured.
I finally got Dr. Phillips to agree to credit my images to the club instead of to me personally. This takes all the ego out and gets these students really excited about having their work and their school featured on such a major website.. Maybe it will inspire others to do more outreach?
Ya' know I was raised Catholic and went to a Catholic school but I gotta tell ya'-The last time I went to a Catholic school me CGE blew up and it cost $2500 and 2 months to repair it, this time the scope fell and will cost me at least $2000 to repair and several weeks or months of waiting....do you think someone is trying to tell me something?

Very nice flare capture! I would avoid all catholic schools from now on, its too expensive.

Hi Stephen
I agree totally with Chris, but be aware, the other religions are no way better. Stay "homeless" it's better and stay clean. In that way you reach cloud #7 ;-)

But Chris captured your likeness on the Sun surely that is proof that you are being watched.Like you said. Mate it,s only money which is nothing compared to the those pics the students took.
