Jim,
To get these excellent shots what exposures and settings were you using on the DMK?
Also, what is the effect of double stacking on your "normal" exposure times (same camera settings?)
Thanks,

Thanks all--took a couple of days off to run the wife back and forthe to doctor and tests but I am squeezing a bit of sun time in as well.
Merlin--to answer your questions I use the dmk software with my dmk41. For double stacked full disks gain always stays at lowest settings. I adjust gamma depending on the conditions from between 80-110 (its different every time). Exposure also tends to be different depending on conditions but I try to keep it just long enough to not blow out any of the bright active areas, or as little blowout as posssible. I have never really tried to repeat settings from earlier sessions because quite frankly they seem to always be different--I adjust "anew" each time i image based on what Im seeing on the screen--Exposure times when DSing are definitely longer of course. When Im out today i will try to remember to write them down--lol.

Jim, superb images. That small filament on the disk on the lower left side reminds me of a sea gulls shadow, as it glides over a misty churning sea, filled with wavelets and choppy froth. And the whitish patch to its upper right is the reflection of the sun on the waves.
