Images from Feb 9th

Hello everyone...

I have finally managed to get a few clear days in a row, and finished tuning the DSII module on my LS80T over lunch yesterday and grabbed a few images. I am thinking that if I have a clear day ont he weekend I will diassemble the DSII and start over when I have more time...might not hurt to tweak it a bit.

Below is the full disk in Ha, thorough the LS80T/DSII/B1200Ha, Lumenera Infinity 2-1M + 0.8x telecompressor:


Teh following two images focuson the two larger proms in Ha, thorough the LS80T/DSII/B1200Ha, Lumenera Infinity 2-1M + 2x teleconverter:






There were other proms along the limb, but I was limited to image the two most prominant ones.

I also did a CaK image through the William Optics 72mm, f6 scope using the Lunt B1200CaK module. Same camera as the Ha shots.





For all images, image cature was via Lucam Recorder and processed in Registax 6. I save 300 frames as a SER file, then combimn and process the best 80% of the stream in Registax.

Are you taking separate exposures for the proms?
I find the DS needs a lot more on the proms than the surface.....

The images are 'single' exposure settings, not a disk/limb composite.

Hmmm,
So what would be your "average" exposure time per frame?

I will check the data files and see what the exposure/gain settting were. I did a lot of playing around and do not recall the settings.

The full disk camera settings were :
Exposure = 17.8 ms
Gain = 1.01
Gamma = 1.00
Contrast = 1.00
Brightness = 1.0
Capture frame speed = 15 Fps

The Limb/Disk were :
Exposure = 15.2 ms
Gain = 5.00
Gamma = 1.00
Contrast = 1.00
Brightness = 1.0
Capture frame speed = 15 Fps

Both Limb/Disk images were the same setting...wasn't sure if they were changed, but they were not changed as I wandered around the disk.

Tuning I think, I rarely have my gain above it's lowest setting. Have you ever reversed the order of your etalons? Mine 'work' one way but dont the other...

Yes,
i've tried them both ways...I think maybe I'm getting a far narrower bandwidth than the others!!

I usually have gain set down and 1/120s for surface (8ms) and 1/11s (90ms) for the proms....

Thanks yor your comments, and see what looks to be a 'hot' spot rotating into view today on the SE limb in the CaK band.

I'm not sure how close the camera settings will compare between the DNK and Lumenera cameras, even if they have the same chip.
