Sunspot Region 1324, Filaments and Prominences

Post by davidevans »

Clear skies in central UK.

However, a lot of cloud and rain forecast for the next seven days.

I have processed this image especially to enhance the filaments...

Hi Ken,

I am using Photoshop Elements 7.

My first choice for colorizing a mono solar image is

Enhance / Adjust Colors / Color Variation /

Then click -

Decrease Blue,
Decrease Blue,
Increase Red,
Decrease Blue
Increase Red,
Darken.

That generally gives a good starting point from which to proceed with processing.

Wow! that really is a killer image, inverting always gives stunning filament detail.

Hey
I really like this treatment of photoshop. ;)
we can clearly see the relief protrusions.
it looks like a sun-blasted
