Hi all,
Seeing has been rough, with the wind and storms here in Arizona the past week, and I was able to get in several hours of shooting however this morning with seeing around 2/5. I am presenting to you here the white light image, followed by the Halpha rendition, then Halpha with proms. The huge active region in the center of the sun is a big suprise, since if it had not appeared we might have had a few days with zero sunpots. Now we wouldnt like that would we?
first the White light, This is with the 80mm f/6 Zeiss apo, Continuum filter + IR/UV blocker at prim focus. Processed in Avi stack, with registax 6 waveletsz;
Please click to see 1290 version...
Next, here is the Halpha image for today. This full disk shot was with the Lunt LS100 with pressure tuner, Antares focal reducer, and the same DMK51 as above.
Next we add the prom image in the background, with several very nice proms today!
The gamma for the full disk was 40, and proms 150. Remember the DMK51 has an extended gamma range, so four other DMK cameras add about 15 to these values.
Thanks for looking, it was a touchy weekend for us, my treadmill burned to a crisp thursday night while running full speed on it, and Im ok, but the motor is toast. Had to go saturday and get another one which weighs 300 pounds. But now were back to buissiness, ready for next weekends marathon!

Hi Chris...
The full disk images are top of the line. The details in the Ha are especially sharp...that AR is growing day by day, and it looks like there is some activity coming around the limb.
Thanks for sharing,
Brian

Re: Full disk renditions from this mornings session
I was especially excited because it appeared that several flares were in progress.

Great images Chris. Seeing for me was really bad. I could not process properly most of my avi files. I did it but I will not show the results...

Re: Full disk renditions from this mornings session
Thanks everyone! Im working on the close ups now, and they are challenging to process because of the very bright flares in the images.

Re: Full disk renditions from this mornings session
Nicely done Chris. Good detail in there and the DMK51 seems like a nice camera.
