Christie Hospital Solar lunchtime
The lab was 30 degrees before 9am this morning so getting outside at lunchtime in the boiling sunshine of 26 degrees was a welcome break! I took my scope in to work today and did a 12-2pm session at the front of the hospital. I had around 30 people look through the telescope and about 2/3 were patients which was nice. Here is a photo of a bunch of Paterson staff enjoying the sunshine
It was so funny, one comment was 'are you a member of a sect?' I said yes, look at my T-shirt the Charlie Bates sect so Stephen you are now a sect leader she was French so I guess she meant club
and they loved my home made CD spectrometer too
It was fun, but I then had to return to the horrible heat of the lab, no fun at all with lab coat and gloves too!
Not great at home either, the house was 28 degrees inside, so now trying to blow through a bit of breeze before nightfall otherwise it is going to be tough sleeping tonight. But we can't complain, I'm sure it won't last long and we will be back to 12 degrees and raining again

Awesome Job Alexandra! I hope these friends enjoyed the Sun and saw the big sunspot. We are used to seeing intelligient women here in America who are also beautiful so Ill skip all the woo-hoos. Keep up the good work. Who's glasses are those, are you working for another solar outreach person on the side?

Nice outreach work Alexandra.
Next time, make sure you take plenty hi-res photos of all the female nurses in uniform.
That should get quite a few hits on the site!
All in the interests of promoting The Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project Outreach Club, of course....

Great outreach Alexandra
Poor Stephen must be getting forgetful in his old age - not recognising his own Solar Glasses! lol
Still, Stephen has been promoted to a world renowned Astronomer by our local newspaper - so I guess we can forgive him for not recognising his new glasses. lol
