Some Magnification Madness

Post by Derek Klepp »

Although not sharp here are some Prominences from today with the Lunt 100 and 5x Powermate. Also one of the Active regions with my inverted negative. Once again lots of fast moving clouds but I needed a fix.

Hey Derek, nice closups as usual ! I hear ya about getting a fix! I delayed getting to work this morning so I could grab some data. I started out with some good seeing and it fell apart within 15 mins and then high clouds formed. grrr

Derek, even on the conditions you mention, these are amazing images.

Hi Derek...

A nice set of images from your session. That bright 'ring' seems to be holding up over the past few days.

Derek, I much prefer the prominences in their natural sharpness like this. Afterall, they are big clouds of plasma.

The one with the filament floating over the surface really looks like it does in the scope.
