The Sharon School Nov 1st

Post by solarchat »

anyone know what this black lop coming from the inside of the penumbral wall is on this image of the new subnspot.? i watched it grow for about 30 minutes and then fade away...all in lateral motion..

Here are a few more pics from today. The full gallery is entitled The Sharon School and is on www.solarastronomy.org

The CaK prominences were spectacular today....

Going to my last (third) school of the week tomorrow.

Excellent pictures Stephen, the sun looks like a hairy fireball! The CaK picture is absolutely phenomenal :)

Rusty, your picture is great too, although perhaps a little dark on my screen but all the detail is there despite the windy conditions.

Lunt LS60 double stack, Lumenera SkyNyx 2.2, 15 .avi 60 seconds each, only 12 usable (...)
