"HighRes PST"

Post by pcasquinha »

Unusual good seeing on February 19 allowed the use of the PST at f/25 increasing a little bit the resolution on the final mosaic .

Thats one of the best shots with a PST I have seen in a very long time. Congratulations - superb execution!

Great image Paulo. I agree that it's one the best PST shots we all have seen.

best regards

Thank you all  , it was a huge learning curve to get here with this small "big" scope, so I'm proud to present you one of my first PST images back to 2005.
I think we all should be proud to keep and share our very first images to remember how we started.
......yes its a full res image B)

I think you've come a long way from those "humble beginnings"
If we had "The Image of the Month" compo - I'd definately vote for yours!
Anyone who can achieve those results from a PST has my admiration!

That's really excellent! What strikes me is how you've managed to achieve such uniformity in the image. Any tips in avoiding the sweet pot issue?

Here is my first ever image with my PST. I remember being so excited, I showed everyone from my family to just about everyone at work. Mind you it was also the first ever active region I had ever seen despite the fact I had got the PST 6 months previously!

I still love this picture and I can still vividly remember the eyepiece view.

 well we can’t avoid the sweet spot what we can do is eliminate the effects on the final image, I do it using masks on Photoshop. One of this days I put some info together and share here.
