Feb 26th Images - revisited

Post by MapleRidge »

Hello everyone...

I went back to processing the NE quadrant image to try and improve the image...I agree it was on the
course side. Chris offered a few suggestions...so I started back with processing...false colour pallets will have to wait a bit

The less aggressively sharpened image using Registax is shown below...still not what I would like.

I tried the Autostakker2 program on the same raw image stream and found a good (well, I think good) result using the Drizzel function, with 3 point alignment. This runs on the slow side :(

This last sample is the Drizzel image after running an unsharp mask in MaximCCD.

A work in progress, but I would be interested in opinions on these alternate processing methods. No sun in the forcast here for a few days, so it will allow soem time to fine tune the processing.

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian

that is a great job. I try about every hint I get from that forum. But very funy, at the end I'm back on my own technique, maybe a little bit altered in the one and other direction, but not totaly new.

The result is, I'm not there where I wish to be. My biggest problem is sharpness without noise :) on close ups. I guess I'll work on it until I go home

2 and 3 are definitely sharper.Brian I don't get overly worried about processing its just good to get a result. I hardly ever use the same sharpening in wavelets. I adjust till it looks grainy then back the sliders off till the noise fades.I have only just recently started using sharpening in Picnik but don't know how effective it really is.
