Nov 7th 2011 H-Alpha Raw Video

Post by solarchat »

My wife says that the raw video from the camera is more realistic than all of our fancy-schmancy images and that it more realistically represents what we see in the eyepiece so here it is..

by the way, you MUST watch it in the original resolution for the real effect... check the lower right corner for resolution selection..

That's about right, I would agree, however you could have focused it a little better :)

Hi Stephen:

What about the setup you used (DMK41? LUNT 80?)

best

This is a LS80 Double stacked scope and DMK51. Alex, this is about as focused as it gets with this tiny amount of light in my lil puny scope. Remember we all don't have massive 100mm etalons...:)

Just kidding. I only get chances to image in the 10 minute breaks between classes so anything I post was either done within 10 minutes or shot by a student in the program. Most of them are student photos.. I already know that I can put out a world class image so it is much more fun for me to watch a little kid use my equipment to put out a mediocre or bettter image.

Here are another couple videos shot by students of the white light and H-Alpha activity on the 8th...

I use the smaller two scopes for image broadcasting and capture at events and save the glorious big scopes for the kids eyes.
