Glasses sponsor changed

Post by solarchat »

Rainbow Symphony is our glasses sponsor and I endorse them strongly as they are the ONLY company on Earth licensed to sell the black polymer glasses that we use exclusively in the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project. These are the safest glasses to use and provide a very natural colored image of the Sun, much like what you see in a white light telescope.
CBSAP strongly encourages people doing solar outreach to use these glasses.
If you are dong an International SUNday event or getting ready for the great American Eclipse of 2017, Rainbow Symphony is the place to get your CBSAP or custom printed solar viewing glasses.

p.s. we recently turned down an offer to have the solarchat forum sponsored by a well known and very good UK astro company. I appreciate Mark Townley's tireless efforts through the nonprofit and the person who wanted to sponsor us but alas, I could not bring myself to have banner ads and sponsorship posts all over the forum. We did invite the company to advertise all they wanted for free through our shop and swap forum but turned down the banner ads portion. Please remember that this forum and all of the CBSAP websites are paid for solely by us, the users ,during our yearly fundraiser. We may have to make it a twice yearly fundraiser but we will keep the forum ad free as long as possible.

A twice yearly fundraiser sounds like a good option.

Where is best place to get bulk solar glasses cheap (Disabled Veteran not a lot of funds) I am hoping to do a local outreach at a park near my home the City hall offered to advertise it on their facebook to see if there will be interest and if so I can use the power outlets for free but would like to pass out some solar glasses if I could.

AstroEd,

Im happy to send you out a couple hundred pair of glasses for free if that will help. For large orders in the thousands you can just click the link on Solarastronomy.org that says "order glasses here".

If you want me to send you some, please email your name, shipping address, email and phone number.
