This is a 3 minute HD video showing what the Atlanta Chapter and Headquarters of the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project does with the fantastic support of our science team of private donors and our wonderful corporate donors, Rainbow Symphony, Coronado, Celestron and Skywatcher USA!
This video shows a typical outreach event at a school in Atlanta and videos of what the kids see through the scopes (including the giant prominence eruption of Aug 15th) along with drone footage from above. No Hubble data, no ISS transits,no copyrights, just the raw colorized video of this amazing hobby and science.
On September 15th, we will be starting our once per year fundraiser/raffle where we raise about 70% of our operating budget for the school year in 22 countries where we have donated equipment and training.
If you like what we do and want to be a part of it, please consider setting aside a tax deductible donation to our cause for the fundraiser in Sept/Oct. Science is the key to stopping the anti-intellectualism, violent extremism and political/religious radicalization of our world.
No one gets paid any salaries and we don't sell or charge for anything we do. We are a certified nonprofit 501c3 in the USA and have operated on <4% admin cost since 2008. All of our financials are available for public perusal on http://www.charliebates.org
