2013 Jon Wood Awards have started
Supporters of the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project are extremely proud to announce the first winners of 2013’s Jon Wood Outreach Award!

Re: 2013 Jon Wood Awards have started
Thanks very much Stephen
I am so humbled & gob-smacked, both at the same time.
I am proud to be a part of this family, I hope I can be a good servant to these causes.
My horizons have been broadened immensely by your help, encouragement & generosity. I have so much to do & I want to do it all now. I will just have to hit the floor in the mornings, running just a little faster
I can't wait to get some images up on here & to show the locals how it is all done.
Wonderful stuff Stephen, thanks again.
Cheers

Re: 2013 Jon Wood Awards have started
Thanks heaps for the award Stephen!
I am humbled that I've been awarded one of the three Jon Wood award's for 2013.
This new equipment will be put to very good use, and be prepared for heaps of images and even larger crowds at the solar outreach events to be held during 2013 up here in the Burdekin!
I have included a letter I received in December from one of the schools I do outreach with (an hours drive away) and this is what makes it all worth it!!
Avagoodone,
Rob.

G'day All,
The Jon Wood award has made front page of our local newspaper. Thought I might share it to show how the local media supports the efforts.
Avagoodone,
Rob.

BTW Alexandra,
Like the images of your own outreach event at the hospital!
Makes it all worth it when you see the faces on the participants when they see the Sun with their own eyes through a 'scope! Better than TV coverage or magazines! It is absolutely "live" and happening right before their eyes!
Keep up the outreach!

Re: 2013 Jon Wood Awards have started
Thanks Alexandra
Just got to spend some time setting these up together. Gathering software & cables to make it all work. Then learning the capturing & processing.
This is a fun journey that I am going to enjoy, when I can get it out into the public.
Cheers
