After a period of relative quiet, yesterday Earth was struck by a weak CME which sparked Aurora around the poles and towards lower latitudes (Kp6). According to NOAA this was a G2 magnetic storm, created by a collapsing filament on the Sun, the magnetic effects of which were detected on my magnetometers. To a lesser degree the event is still in progress.
The plot below shows the 'rate of change' of the magnetic environment in which my magnetometers sit. The initial CME impact occurred at about 16:30UT on June 7th, followed by a period of unrest as Earth passed through the wake and continues to do so a this time. It is expected to continue though June 9th.
Thanks for looking.
Stu.
