Non magnetic Solar distraction

Post by grimble_cornet » Sun Jan 11, 2015 11:41 pm

As a bit of a break from tracking down noisy blips on the magnetometer front........... decided to try a bit of imaging despite strong winds and hazy cloud.
Seeing was only marginal but I managed to grab a FD in Ha with the SM40 and 2-pane mosaics in White-light and CaK with the trusty LS60 CaK1200 combo. Sorry for the strange shape of the White-light 'disc' - after trying 3 alignment programmes I gave up

Even the x1.6 Barlow struggled in White and CaK but I managed the usual 6-pane discs with the SM40:

Hi Mike

a very fine trio. The distraction is hardly noticable
Only stardust in the wind, some fine and some less fine scopes, filters and adapters as well. Switzerland 47 N, 9 E, in the heart of EUROPE :)

from 7.01 pm - 6.59 am http://www.wastronomiko.com some times vice versa ;)

Good shots there Mike, we were away visiting friends yesterday morning when the skies were blue, alas as we headed back up north we soon passed back into the Birmingham cloud...
