Magnetic blip

Post by grimble_cornet »

Spotted this on my 1 second cadence magnetometer from this morning.
Nothing very obvious on Intermagnet........although there was quick changing stuff an hour or so earlier :?
I wonder if Stuart had a similar response or is it just a 'local anomaly' ?

Hi Mike,

Looks like a local anomaly, Mike. Here are my data over the same period.

Could be any number of reasons.....maybe even that UFO!

Thanks Stuart. My traces are a pretty good match to yours except for the 4 'blips' which only last for 2-3 seconds at most. I would have missed them altogether if I hadn't been checking some screen dumps which I hadn't even realised I had switched on for the 1s magnetometer
Be interesting to see if it happens again - can't think of anything I was doing at the time to generate the blips  :?:

Interesting blip, but I have no idea what could cause it.

Hi Mike

I'm always open to new challenges. The best start is, you send me a complete working set, I'll put in to a big hole in the garden ;)
