A significant solar storm is in progress as a result of a series of CMEs which struck yesterday.
At its maximum, the storm reached G4, just one below the maximum G5 on the NOAA scale. This resulted in significant Aurora at Kp8 magnitude in high and mid-latitudes.
Magnetometer response below. Reverberations continue and may do so for several hours to come.
Thanks for looking
Stu.

Re: Significant G4 solar storm 23rd July
I would have hoped you picked that one up
I got several e-mail red alerts from Lancaster but it was thick cloud
absolutely no alerts from Calsky though, so I guess I haven't set that up right then? and I won't be getting e-mail alerts for ISS transits either like I thought.

Thanks Mark, Derek, Alexandra.
It would be worth getting the alerts working if you can, Alexandra. Good luck with that.
