Geomagnetic Storm Kp7

Post by Carbon60 »

Hi all,

Fast flowing solar wind with a southerly magnetic orientation created beautiful aurora last night and produced a strong response on my magnetometer.

Some in the UK managed to capture some lovely images, but alas nothing could be seen from my location

Stu.

I am not surprised you picked it up :bow :bow :hamster: I got lots of alerts around 8pm, but we had a lot of low cloud around the horizon line above Manchester giving a super orange glow that drowned anything else out. I couldn't convince the hubby to go the hills either ;)

Good data! I was looking last night, alas where I am was light pollution galore.

You should use it as an excuse to go up to the Cat and Fiddle Alexandra, I reckon there would be a decent chance from the car park up there, and a rewarding beer may just swing the vote in future ;)

That is a very good idea, I did mention it the other night but I just got a grunt ;) the trouble is he has to be well oiled with wine first before I ask for things :)
