i got a Jove system as gift
I ran it for few hours today
I took this part of scan today
it looks like a small radio burst but not sure
I read manual it appears to look like one
what do you think?

Have you checked the time and date with SolarMonitor?

ok DSobserver is always a great help someday I gotta get back to France and meet you. he helped getting focus of SHG correct
so yes my time is off
clock was set using local time 13.26
I am at - 5 UTC
so 13.26 + 5 = 18.26
chart is cut in 3HR blocks
so DSObserver is correct I missed main event
but I did pick up a minor blip I remarked chart
1) there is a question of scale: my chart is making event look "large"
2) Montana is there a way to get more refined data form NOAA?
3) but event I recorded does fit JOVE site description of a solar an average event "sharp rise followed by slow decay lasting 1 minute or less - this one was 30 seconds

It looks like you did capture the minor event (the shape is correct). Radio Skypipe does a lot of auto-rescaling, so even minor signals show as large events until a larger event happens and everything else is downscaled in comparison. The trick is to always ensure that your clock is accurately set and that it is working in Universal Time. That way it is much easier to compare across different sources of data as the time reference is then common.

but it might not be a duck
because something else might have made the same pattern
it not like I can go out and look

my graph is exactly same as yours but instead to be from 5th to 8th of march, it is from 18h to 19h the 6th of march.

the difference between the grey and green graph is mots probably in the 1-8 Angstrom (0.1-0.8 nm) and 0.5-4.0 Angstrom (0.05-0.4 nm) passbands.
As far as I could read regarding jove project : one point is not enough. You can catch either terrestrial event or stellar event. But the good news is that you catch them too!
Now you're right : as soon as you detect something, you have first to check if it is a stellar event or not, and only after you can open a bottle of champagne!
But I'm afraid that what ever radio system you'll use, it will be the same...we are not using a GOES satellite far away from terrestrial activities
Now to be honest, I was thinking to build my own system soon, and jove system looks fun indeed!
