in another thread Peter told me about a trick to ID HeD3 line
I tried to duplicate I think I got it but
it would be nice if verified

question
peter why does this happen?
at this point does it become an emission line instead of absorption line

Looks like you found it. I'm assuming the emission line you're seeing is on the blue side of the Na doublet.
Any gas that exists in the chromosphere will shine by emission near the limb. It's a process called fluorescent or resonant scattering. Continuum light from the photosphere is absorbed by a strong line of the chromospheric gas and re-emitted (scattered) in all directions, some toward your SHG.

also
i used 2400 lpmm grating
would 1800 or 1200 be better?
