Geomagnetic unrest Feb 2017

The interplanetary space between the Earth and Sun is filled with solar plasma, flowing at speed Earthwards and beyond as it is pushed outwards by the Sun. As Earth passes through the wind stream we experience the effects on our local magnetic environment, detectable on magnetometers and visible by eye in the form of aurora.
Over the past few days we've been passing through ripples in the stream, its ebb and flow imprinted as peaks and troughs in the geomagnetic record and reported as beautiful aurora for those lucky enough to be in the right place to see.
Here are my data collected over the past five days shown as 'rate of change' to emphasise the dynamic nature of the phenomenon.
There's more to come in the coming days as yet another coronal hole turns Earthwards.
Thanks for looking.
