Pulsating Geomagnetic Storms March 1st-8th 2017

Post by Carbon60 »

A lively few days sparked beautiful aurora as a result of fast flowing solar wind emanating from a large coronal hole.

My magnetometer data show the passage of geo-effective episodes as Earth moved through the wake, recording the transition into and through the solar wind stream.

Nice record Stu! It was sunny here on thursday (when I was at work), now the weekend is back to the blanket grey skies. A weekend doing jobs on the boat me thinks...

I know what you mean, Mark. The odd few days of sunshine we've had have fallen mid-week, so no chance of imaging without taking a holiday.

Hope the boat is coming along okay.

Stu.
